Team 1510 used Autodesk Inventor for the purposes of designing the special systems and other custom parts of the robot.
We used the program for:
- Creating the chassis and choosing the color scheme of the robot.

Blue Chassis, Red Arm |
Red Chassis, Blue Arm |
Red Chassis, Red Arm
|
- Creating the arm and its means of movement.

Upper Arm/Lower Arm Joint
| We decided to use the hex shafts because they are the most efficient choice when considering the objects that they are rotating. |
|

Lower Arm/Base Joint |

Upper Arm Transmission
| Highlighted in green are the member sprockets of the upper arm transmission. The sprocket on the lower arm's shaft does not rotate the lower arm because there is a Teflon-like hex sleeve between the hex shaft and the sprocket. |
|

Lower Arm Transmission
| Highlighted in green are the sprockets used to rotate the lower arm. |
|
- Debugging the claw of the arm.

First Claw
|

Final Claw
| The claw was optimized so that we could grab the inner tubes from directly above, instead of dragging the claw and picking them up from the sides, which would be very inefficient. |
|
- Prototyping the ramp.

Slide-Out Ramp
| This design was scrapped due to the complexity of the horizontal platform. It would need legs that slide out along with the horizontal. |
|

Basic Ramp Prototype
| Due to time constraints, we decided not to pursue the designs. |
|
- Designing the shell of the robot.

Shell
The shell was made so that at rest, the lower arm could rest on the shell, and remain within the planar constraints set forth by FIRST.
|
|
 |
- Designing other parts and fasteners for the robot.
- Lastly, visualizing our completed robot.
